2012 Cottage Grove Auxiliary Golf Tournament
Golfing for Good Health
Nineteen teams of golfers teed off at Middlefield Golf Course in Cottage Grove on June 22. Their goal—besides avoiding sand traps—was to raise money for new equipment at Cottage Grove Community Hospital. High on the list of needs this year: a bariatric exam table and procedural stretcher.
The annual event, organized by the Cottage Grove Community Hospital Auxiliary, grossed more than $12,000 thanks to the highest number of players ever.
Attendees enjoyed great prize packages and a delicious lunch during the 18-hole scramble. There was also something new this year: a blender bike on loan from Northwest Community Credit Union. Players could hop on the stationary bike and pedal to mix up margaritas. It was a fun way to promote good health and provide good libations.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all the players; long-time event sponsor Brad’s Chevy Cottage Grove Chevrolet, tournament chairperson Juanita Woolley, and all the members of the planning committee.
