Community Service

Resident Physicians at Family Medicine of Southwest Washington (FMSW) are passionate about contributing to their community. Below are just a few places you might find FMSW residents spending their time:

  • Providing breast, cervical and colon cancer screenings for the Washington State Breast, Cervical and Colon Health Program in partnership with Washington State Department of health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Susan G. Komen (Puget Sound, Eastern Washington and Portland/Southwest Washington Affiliates)
  • Providing medical coverage at The Vancouver School District sports events (football, basketball, wrestling)
  • Hosting a Procedure Clinic funded by SWMC Foundation for patients referred from Free Clinic
  • Providing over 400 Sports Physicals each year for area middle and high school students
  • Volunteering alongside faculty at The Free Clinic of Vancouver or The New Heights Free Clinic
  • Providing medical coverage at local races
  • Working the blood pressure tent with staff and faculty at the Clark County Fair
