Patients' Perceptions of Hospital Care
PeaceHealth hospital patients are randomly surveyed and asked to provide information about their hospital care experience. Results from these surveys provide staff and leaders with valuable information that helps identify opportunities to improve the care we provide.
Our hospital survey includes HCAHPS questions. HCAHPS (pronounced “H-caps”) is the first national, standardized, publicly reported survey of patients' perspectives of hospital care. HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems; also known as the CAHPS® Hospital Survey) is a standardized survey instrument that is endorsed by the National Quality Forum (NQF), a national organization that represents the consensus of many healthcare providers, consumer groups, professional associations, purchasers, federal agencies, and research and quality organizations. Results for HCAHPS questions (for hospitals across the country) are posted on a public website, Hospital Compare
