The Physician Order Policy at St. Joe's outlines that verbal orders from the physician or other licensed independent practitioner are written down immediately and read back to make sure the order is clearly understood. The physician or other practitioner must verbally confirm that the order was correctly written, and then sign the order within 48 hours. We review records continuously and perform monthly audits to make sure this practice is done every time. |
