What We Are Doing:

A Cardiovascular Improvement Model team, led by a heart specialist, is involved in the continuous review of records of patients who come to PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center when having a Myocardial Infarction (heart attack). Our team is part of a cooperative effort involving PeaceHealth hospitals, focused on ensuring that we provide the best possible care based on the latest, proven research. We want to make sure that a heart attack patient who arrives at our hospital gets this very important dose of aspirin as soon as possible, along with the other medications and treatments they will need.

Our order sets for Cardiology patients not only provide quick reference sections for recommended medications, but space to alert providers in the future as to why they may be contraindicated.
