What We Are Doing:

A patient’s ability to get in and out of bed by himself/herself is a first step toward doing many other things like getting dressed or getting to the toilet. One of the first things we assess is the ability to get in and out of bed and if bedbound, ability to move around in bed. The Home Health team instructs patients and families how to transfer safely either through tips, cues, patient/family/caregiver education and training.  They also evaluate your needs for any special devices or equipment that may increase your functional ability to get to the safest independent state possible.
