What We Are Doing:
Proven research shows that antibiotics that are meant to prevent infections should not be given longer than 24 hours after surgery. Our Surgeons, Pharmacists and Infection Preventionist are keenly aware of the risks associated with prolonged use of antibiotic when no infection is present. Our staff works closely with the surgical teams to build reliable processes and provide feed-back so that we can be sure antibiotics are stopped when no longer needed.
