Qualtere-Burcher, Paul D. MD
Back
 | Every patient is unique.
That’s the key point Paul Qualtere-Burcher, M.D., tried to impress upon new doctors when he taught obstetrics and gynecology at the State University of New York, prior to joining PeaceHealth Medical Group in 2002. “It’s important to individualize care,” he says. “What works for one person doesn’t necessarily work for another.”
He attended the University of Arizona School of Medicine thinking he’d become a family practitioner, but the magic of birth drew him to OB/Gyn. His residency provided a solid background in childbirth—especially when, in his third year, he became the father of twins. His specialty also gives him the opportunity to provide surgery to women in need and to work closely with midwives, whom he values as partners in women’s health care.
Patients appreciate Dr. Qualtere-Burcher’s gentle style and good listening skills, helping them feel comfortable whether they’re having a routine exam or discussing troublesome symptoms. Having lived in upstate New York for seven years, he and his wife and three children appreciate Eugene’s climate and the opportunity to garden, hike, and bicycle nearly year-round.
