He received his Medical Degree from the University of North Dakota, and completed anesthesiology residency at OakKnoll Naval Hospital, Oakland California. A diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology, he retired from the United States Navy in December 1997, and looks forward to new horizons in Southeast Alaska.
