Cardiologist Nasreen Ilias-Kahn, MD, joined Sacred Heart Medical Center's Oregon Heart & Vascular Institute in 2011 after completing her fellowship in cardiology at the University of Texas Health Center in Houston, Texas. She is the medical director for Cardiovascular Wellness at Sacred Heart.
A Northwest native, she attended medical school at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland and completed her residency at Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. She cites as her mentor JB Durand, MD, at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Her professional interests include women's heart health, preventative care and cardio-oncology. In addition to English, she speaks Urdu/Hindi and Spanish.
Dr. Ilias-Khan believes that a healthy heart starts from within. "Nurture the heart; it is the source of all vitality and courage," she says. When not working, Dr. Ilias-Khan enjoys outdoor activities, artistic projects and spending time with her husband and family.
