James Jimi Nakashima, MD, completed his undergraduate work at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska where he stayed to complete his medical degree. Dr. Nakashima completed internship and residency at Creighton University Affiliated Hospitals. He then went to the University of Tennessee Center for the Health Science to complete a fellowship.
Dr. Nakashima served in the United States Medical Corps and is a member fo the American College of Rheumatology, American College of Physicians, Tennessee Medical Association and the Memphis/Shelby County Medical Society. He was also an assistant professor at the University of Tennessee and worked as a volunteer at the University of Tennessee Rheumatology Clinic.
Dr. Nakashima is board certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners, American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Internal Medicine Rheumatology.
