Dr. Forte was born in Seattle, WA in 1956. He was raised in Seattle and received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington in 1978. He then spent four years working and attending graduate school in Pharmacology at the University of Washington. Subsequently, he attended medical school at the University of Washington and received his M.D. degree in 1986.
He was in intern and resident in General Surgery at the University of Washington from 1986 to 1991. He completed his residency as Chief Resident from 1990-1991. He joined the surgical staff at Longview Surgical Group in August of 1991.
Dr. Forte and his wife, Kris, have two children. He resides in Longview and his hobbies include gardening, fishing, and hiking. He speaks conversational Italian.
Dr. Forte is certified by the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery. He has admitting privileges at St. John Medical Center (Longview, WA) and S.W. Washington Medical Center (Vancouver, WA). In addition, he consults and treats patients in conjunction with surgeons at Oregon Health Sciences University and the University of Washington. Dr. Forte works in partnership with Dr. Dane Moseson and Dr. Christine Katterhagen in the Columbia Regional Breast Center. Dr. Forte holds medical licenses in both the State of Washington and Oregon.
