CME - Cardiovascular Summit for Primary Care 2015

Objectives
This CME conference will provide healthcare professionals with practical information regarding diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. At the end of the conference, participants should be able to:
- Apply current understanding of the pathophysiology of atrial fibrillation to patient care.
- Identify current treatment options for atrial fibrillation, with an emphasis on local experience with Arctic Front cryoablation.
- Review stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation, including novel anticoagulation medications and future use of left atrial closure devices.
- Define current indications and guidelines for the primary and secondary prevention of sudden cardiac death.
- Define current indications and guidelines for implantation of chronic resynchronization therapy for treatment of heart failure.
- Define pathophysiology and epidemiology of aortic stenosis.
- Describe the indications for aortic valve replacement.
- Compare eligible patient populations for surgical vs. transcatheter aortic valve replacement.
