Description:This class is an introduction to palliative care for nurses and all medical staff. This class provides tools and education to better care for those patients and their families with chronic, debilitating, terminal illness and or nearing the end of their lives.

  • The goals are for an improved understanding and ability to provide for and
    identify those who may benefit from palliative care services, appropriate
    pain and symptom management for those with more complex pain issues,
    palliative care considerations in pediatric population and care of the
    imminently dying. We will also delve into cultural, spiritual and ethical
    issues at end of life along with some of our own policy and process. We hope
    you will join us.
