Total Joint Replacement Program
Our knee and hip replacement program has been named a Blue Distinction Center by BlueCross BlueShield. As a Blue Distinction Center, we are committed to expertise in quality care, resulting in better overall outcomes for patients by meeting objective clinical measures developed with input from expert physicians and medical organizations.
Orthopedic surgeons perform well over 1,200 hip and knee replacements annually. Our evidence-based, team approach to these procedures helped make us one of the 100 Top Hospitals in the United States for this surgery. Our joint replacement care team includes surgeons, operating room nurses, bedside nurses and physical therapists, all specially trained in orthopedics.

Total joint patients attend a pre-operative patient education class that covers how to prepare and what to expect before, during and after surgery. This knowledge gives patients the power to heal better and faster while fully supported by our dedicated staff.
Specialized nursing staff
Our specially trained orthopedic nurses work with physical and occupational therapists, as well as RN Care Coordinators and Medical Social Workers, to assist total joint patients with recovery, mobility and a safe discharge plan.
Total Joint Coordinator
Our program coordinator assists total joint patients throughout the joint replacement process.
All joint replacement procedures are technically demanding, and minimally invasive approaches require additional dexterity and skill. Our board-certified surgeons have received extensive training and are among a select group who routinely perform these procedures in the region.
Infection is one of the most serious complications that can follow joint replacement surgery, and is fortunately rare. Antibiotics are administered pre- and post-operatively, and special procedures are taken in the operating room. Our surgical suites are outfitted with state-of-the-art helmet exhaust systems for operating room personnel. We also employ meticulous operating room discipline for skin preparation, draping and instrument preparation.
