Regional Governing Boards
PeaceHealth is guided by the PeaceHealth Board of Directors and by regional Governing Boards in each of our five service areas in Oregon, Washington and Alaska. These volunteer board members are community leaders who fully partner with PeaceHealth in making and supporting decisions based on our Mission and Values as well as our Vision for the organization—that every PeaceHealth patient receives safe, evidence-based, compassionate care: every time, every touch. Our regional Governing Boards are also charged with setting policy regarding quality, stewardship, planning, community service and advocacy.
Peace Harbor Hospital Governing Board

Andrew M. Boughal, D.O received his osteopathic degree from Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1975 and completed his residency at the Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington, in 1982. Dr. Boughal is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is a member of PeaceHealth Medical Group. He has been on the PeaceHealth Siuslaw Region Governing Board since July, 1977.

Albert J. Brauer, M.D.
received his medical degree from University of Nebraska in 1948 and practiced as a family medicine physician in Florence from 1958-1989. Dr. Brauer was instrumental in establishing the hospital in Kenya Africa where he and his wife Katherine return yearly to take supplies and volunteer their services.
He is now retired and has been a member of the PeaceHealth Siuslaw Region Governing Board since 1989. |
Rick Cox
graduated from Wichita State University, Wichita, Kansas in 1970 with a degree in Business, Journalism. He is a State of Oregon Real Estate Broker, Developer working with Coldwell Banker in Florence, Oregon. Rick was a member of the PeaceHealth Siuslaw Region Governing Board from April, 1993 until and has been a member since June 2007.

Joanne Forsberg
graduated from Portland State University, Portland, Oregon with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business with Accounting emphasis. She is currently the Chief Financial Officer with Oregon Pacific Bank in Florence, Oregon. Joanne has been a member of the PeaceHealth Siuslaw Region Governing Board since June, 2007

Tom Grove
graduated from the University
of Wyoming in 1968 with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, the American Bankers Association in 1977 and Colorado Graduate School of Banking in 1980. Tom was the President/Chief Executive Officer and Director of Oregon Pacific Banking Company from 1984 until his retirement in. He has been a member of the PeaceHealth Siuslaw Region Governing Board since.

Shasta M. McMullen
was born and raised in Florence, Oregon. She and her husband Kevin purchased her family’s business in 1990. She has been involved in numerous school and civic organizations. Shasta and Kevin received Florence’s First Citizen Award in 2003. She has been a member of the PeaceHealth Siuslaw Region Governing Board for many years.

Susan M. Saubert
studied Business Administration at Southern Oregon State College in Ashland, Oregon. She is the Administrator at the Shorewood Senior Residence Center in Florence. Sue is a member of the Peace Harbor Hospital Foundation Board and served as president from 1999-2002. She has been on the PeaceHealth Siuslaw Region Governing Board for many years and is currently the Chair of the Governing Board for Peace Harbor Hospital.

Ron Shearer, M.D.
graduated from University of Oregon Health Science Center, Portland Oregon in 1980 and did his internship and residency at Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield, California. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and currently serves as Regional Vice President of PeaceHealth Medical Group in Florence. Ron has been on the PeaceHealth Siuslaw Region Board of Directors since June, 2007. |

Rick Yecny
graduated from University of Portland and worked as a CPA partner in a local firm for many years. Rick served as a member of the Governing Board for over 10 years before joining the Siuslaw Region's executive team in 2001 as Chief Financial Officer. He now serves as Regional CEO and Chief Mission Officer for PeaceHealth here in Florence. |
