Our goal is to assign responsibilities to volunteers
that are consistent with both skills and interests.
Opportunities include but are not limited to:
Adult Day Health: Assist with
program activities in a group or one-on-one setting, meal
set-up and clean-up, and general clerical tasks.
Cancer Center: Assist clients with resource materials,
assemble packets, stock brochures, and provide Oncology
program support as needed.
Clerical Assistance: General clerical assistance
including copying, data entry, filing, assembling packets
etc. in a variety of areas.
Emergency Room: Stock, clean, and assist staff. This
position is usually reserved for pre-med students.
Float/Runner: Assist with specimen delivery, patient
transport and miscellaneous tasks, as well as mail, flower,
and meal tray delivery. This position involves a lot of
walking.
Food Services: Assist cafeteria personnel with cleaning,
stocking, and maintaining the cafeteria.
Gift Shop: Retail and customer service position. Involves
handling cash transactions.
Information Desk: Greet the public, provided resources,
directions, and escort.
Rehab: Geared to students seeking Rehab experience.
Involves assisting Physical and Occupational Therapy staff
in a variety of tasks.
Special Projects: Serve on a team or task force to
provide patient/community involvement; One time computer,
marketing, special events and other miscellaneous projects.
Whatcom Hospice: Fundraising, clerical support, or
assisting patients in the later stages of life with chores,
errands, and childcare. Visit
