PeaceHealth Medical Group offers an Anticoagulation Clinic at the
Cordata building location.
Anticoagulation therapy has several applications, but the most common is
using it to aid recovery from strokes or other heart problems, such as
atrial fibrillation.
An anticoagulant is a blood-thinning medication. Warfarin (also known
as Coumadin) is the main blood-thinner on the market. Warfarin slows
down the body’s own clotting process. Anticoagulation is measured by a
blood test, which involves drawing a blood sample from a vein in the
arm. The test is done at approximately one-month intervals, and the
Warfarin medication is adjusted accordingly.
The Anticoagulation Clinic provides PeaceHealth Medical Group
patients with the specialized testing, monitoring and prescription
services that are needed in order to maintain a desirable level of
anticoagulation in the blood. The Clinic is staffed with two dedicated
clinical staff who work with your primary care provider to ensure a safe
and desirable level of anticoagulation.
