medical group opens new
orthopedic clinic

The St. Joseph Center for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine opened in May 2006. The St. Joseph Medical Group collaborated with established and trusted local physicians to create the new clinic.

Having this clinic ensures there is full orthopedic coverage in the Emergency Department so the hospital is ready 24/7 to provide local care for fractures and other orthopedic emergencies and assure the community has optimal local access into the future for general orthopedic services.

The clinic’s physicians are Steven Bruce, MD, Gus Hodge, MD, James Holstine, DO, Ron Woo, MD and Warren Taranow, DO. The group has expertise in joint replacement, arthroscopic knee surgery, fracture management, musculoskeletal care, foot and ankle issues and shoulder surgery.

The practice also offers more sophisticated approaches such as metal-on-metal total hip replacement, arthroscopic techniques in shoulder surgery to avoid fully open procedures, and ACL reconstruction using allografts to avoid sacrifice of the patient’s own tissue.
