Our Therapists evaluate, develop and implement plan of care for skilled therapy
with patient and caregivers: |
|
|
Inpatient Therapists |
In
the ICU and on the Medical Surgical unit,
therapy may be provided in
the patient’s room or hallway, although a rehabilitation gym is also
located near the patient rooms. The therapy plan of care is provided
in coordination with other members of the acute medical care team
including doctors, nursing, social workers, diabetic educator and
registered dietician.
And, if discharged to our Transitional Care Unit (SNF):
Transitional Care patients are encouraged to work with therapy
within their room, bathroom, hallway, and the therapy gym. The
Transitional Care Unit has an outdoor area, an activity room, and a
large kitchen area to simulate home challenges. Interdisciplinary
team meetings as well as ongoing communication with nurses, doctors,
social worker and home health staff assist patients and patients’
caregivers work smoothly toward their goals. |
|
Home Health Therapists
 |
In the patient’s home, including the Pioneer Home.
Ketchikan homes are easy to locate. The Ketchikan road system,
alongside the ocean, is said to be about "30 miles long and 2 blocks
wide", maybe wider in a few places. Home Health Therapists coordinate their services with each other
and nursing services. |
|
Outpatient Therapists

|
Usually in our clinic setting located on the Emergency Room side
of the hospital at street level.
Our Outpatient Clinic opened in this newly remodeled space in
June, 2007. It is a spacious, inviting, comfortable, modernized,
newer and fresher place. Our KGH Foundation is raising monies with
the Gift of Healing '08 campaign to upgrade and add to our great
variety of therapy and fitness equipment. Services can be implemented in patient’s home or other community settings as needed, including the Parks & Rec’s warm water pool for aquatic therapy. |
