Exceptional Medicine and Compassionate Care

PeaceHealth has been consistently named one of the 100 Most Wired Hospitals and Health Systems by Hospitals & Health Networks magazine since 1999, most recently in 2003.

Peace Harbor Hospital is unusually well-equipped to deal with life-threatening emergencies, despite its small size. Patients have access to the latest imaging technology, including a spiral CT scanner; in an emergency, those scans can be read instantly by a radiologist miles away, thanks to teleradiology. The Emergency Department can administer thrombolytics - "clot-busting" drugs - to patients experiencing a heart attack, and physicians can later monitor the patient’s vital signs with a wireless, centralized monitoring system.

Letters from patients. The compassionate care provided by PeaceHealth in western Lane County is perhaps best expressed in unsolicited letters from patients such as these:

"All of the nursing staff and their aides treated our loved one with personal care and deep compassion. Our family was always made to feel welcome at the bedside…We're grateful to have such a well-staffed care facility if our community." (Florence, Oregon)

"Thank you so much for all the care you gave my father while he was in your ICU…For some, it's a job, and for others, it's giving just that little bit more which makes all the difference. Thank you for giving my father that little bit more!" (Florence, Oregon)
