Hospice is different kind of health care. It is about
healing, not cure, and about hope for paying attention to what is truly
important—comfort, relationships, spirituality, meaning, and being
surrounded by loved ones. Hospice care recognizes these are all possible
even for people with severe illness.
A Team of professionals and
volunteers cares for each hospice family. The team reaches out to the
family too, realizing a serious illness affects everyone.
Tests and
procedures, blood work, and surgery are not what hospice care is about,
unless these things are used to bring comfort. In Hospice we recognize
that there comes a time when more of these become a burden instead of a
help.
