Bridge AssistanceBridging the Gap of Financial Uncertainty

What is Bridge Assistance?
Bridge Assistance Program, which began in July 2002,is a PeaceHealth Charity Care Program that was developed to insure that all our patients receive equal financial treatment at all PeaceHealth facilities. It encourages access to preventive care and early care and reduces costs related to back end billing and collection processes. Since the inception of the PeaceHealth Bridge Assistance Program a total of over 1400 patients of Siuslaw Region have been helped financially, with continued monthly benefits to as many as 796 members.

Why the name Bridge Assistance?
Charity Care often has a negative connotation, and in keeping with PeaceHealth's value of “Respecting Individual Human Dignity and Worth”, PeaceHealth wanted a name that was more positive.

How does it work?
Bridge Assistance is a program through which necessary medical services are provided at a reduced cost or without cost when it has been determined that payment for those services cannot be obtained through insurance, outside agencies, or private means. For those patients determined to be eligible for Bridge assistance, Bridge assistance will apply to:Current accounts (not in collection) Future accounts (for 1-12 months depending upon eligibility determination)  Renewals – (after 1-12 months depending upon eligibility determination)
