Re: Excellence in Diabetes Award
From: James P. Scott, MD, Senior Vice President, Clinical and Operational Improvement

The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), in partnership with the American Diabetes Association (ADA), recognizes physicians across the United States who provide quality care to patients with diabetes. I am delighted to announce that four PeaceHealth physicians have been awarded recognition in the 2004 Diabetes Physician Recognition Program:

Dr. Mike Hodulik, Health Associates of Peace Harbor,
Florence, Oregon

Dr. Juanita Doerksen, PeaceHealth Medical Group,
Coburg Family Practice, Eugene, Oregon

Dr. Ralph Fillingame, PeaceHealth Medical Group,
Family Practice, Eugene, Oregon

Dr. Mark Lyon, PeaceHealth Medical Group, Clinic South Family Practice, Eugene, Oregon

Since the inception of the Diabetes Physician Recognition Program for Specialists and Primary Care Physicians in 1997, more than 1,800 physicians have earned this national recognition. “This program, by recognizing providers who deliver high-quality diabetes care, will raise the standard of care across the board and will give the 16 million Americans with diabetes information about which providers can best help them manage their condition,” said Representative Diana DeGette (D) of Colorado, Co-chair of the Congressional Diabetes Caucus. I join with all of our employees and medical staff in congratulating Dr. Doerksen, Dr. Fillingame, Dr. Hodulik, and Dr. Lyon, and their clinic teams, and offering my gratitude for these teams’ ongoing service and dedication to fulfilling the promise of exceptional medicine for PeaceHealth patients and families.
