Sleep crucial to staying healthy


Debra Riddell, a specialist with PeaceHealth's Sleep Disorder Center at Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend, recently authored an article in the Register-Guard about the importance of sleep. She described some common disorders and offered tips on getting the right amount of rest.

"For the majority of those suffering from sleep deprivation, establishing routines and habits to support natural sleep processes — including sticking to a regular bedtime and wake-up time, getting regular exercise and taking time before bed to engage in a restful and relaxing activity — can work wonders," she said.
