Volunteer Programs
 

General Program (adults). Professional men and women, working or recently retired, and those working in the home are invited to consider our adult program. This requires a commitment of 6-12 months to a weekly or bi-monthly shift. Qualifications vary depending on the assignment. All potential volunteers should have a caring attitude, customer service expertise, and basic computer skills. 

 

 

Sacred Heart Hospital Guild (adults): As a members of the Hospital Guild volunteers operate the gift shop, “Heartfelt Gifts”. Opportunities include stocking, creating displays, selling merchandise, and board positions. All proceeds form the gift shop are donated to the hospital for patient equipment and services.

 

 


College program (young adults). Students assist on nursing floors with tasks such as passing meal trays, running errands, and stocking supplies. Applicants must be enrolled in school and have an interest in a healthcare career. Students make a weekly two-hour commitment per term.

 

 

Teen Program (ages 15 to 18): High school students may volunteer for the school year or the summer. Teen volunteers assist staff by performing a variety of clerical duties, escorting patients and families, and participating in special projects. Shifts are two hours per week.
