Stroke Rehabilitation

The Oregon Rehabilitation Center, an 18-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit, located in Sacred Heart Medical Center, has a stroke rehabilitation program that focuses on helping patients to:

• Increase independence and safety in daily living skills

• Develop mobility, strength, and endurance

• Control bowel and bladder function

• Improve language and communication skills

• Adjust emotionally and psychologically to the effects of stroke

• Re-enter and move about the community

• Assess the need for special equipment

• Evaluate and modify the home for the stroke patient
