Mel Pyne
Chief Executive Officer
PeaceHealth Oregon Region


Mel Pyne joined PeaceHealth Oregon Region as the Chief Executive Officer in May 2005. In this position, he oversees Sacred Heart Medical Center, a major tertiary medical center located in the Eugene/Springfield area, two smaller community hospitals, a large multi-specialty medical group, and various other healthcare ventures in Oregon. He also serves as Senior Vice President for the PeaceHealth system. Prior to joining PeaceHealth, Mel served as Senior Vice President of Oakwood Healthcare, Inc. and President of Oakwood Hospital & Medical Center, a 620-bed teaching hospital located in Dearborn, Michigan. During his tenure with Oakwood, he guided a $135 million facility expansion. Mel earned a Bachelor’s Degree in University Studies from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and a Master’s Degree in Management from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah.
  
Jill Hoggard Green
Chief Operating Officer

Jill Hoggard Green is the Chief Operating Officer for PeaceHealth Oregon Region and oversees the operations at Sacred Heart Medical Center. Jill has been in health care leadership positions for more than 20 years. She began her career at 16 as a nurse’s aide. She advanced from oncology nurse to regional roles in administration and system leadership while with Intermountain Health Care in Salt Lake City, Utah. It was the people and mission of PeaceHealth that eventually brought her out to Oregon. Jill holds doctorate and master’s of science degrees in nursing from the University of Utah.

Mr. Tierney has more than 14 years of experience specializing in healthcare architecture. Since joining Anshen+Allen in 1995, he has directed projects for new greenfield medical centers and hospital replacement projects for community and non-profit health care systems.

 
Lola Fritz, R.N.
Director of Operational Facilities Planning
PeaceHealth Oregon Region
 

As director of operational facilities planning for PeaceHealth, Lola Fritz serves as the liaison between the hospital’s architect and contractor and the staff who will work at Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend. Fritz's responsibilities include ensuring that operational efficiency and patient/staff safety are at the forefront of the design of Sacred Heart at RiverBend. Fritz also identified the process changes that needed to be made to improve the safety and quality of care delivered to patients. During her 20+ years with PeaceHealth, Fritz has worked as an emergency room nurse and manager of the emergency department. She also worked in the quality improvement arena before taking the position as director of operational facilities planning.
 

 
Philip Farrington, AICP
Director of Land Use Planning and Development
PeaceHealth Oregon Region
 

Philip Farrington is PeaceHealth's director of land use planning and development. Working through all phases of project planning and implementation, he serves as an interface between design professionals working on various projects and the appropriate governmental agencies to ensure that PeaceHealth and community objectives are met while also complying with regulatory requirements. Philip also helps lead engagement and outreach efforts with citizens, civic groups, and other stakeholders and interested parties. He has worked as a planning professional for more than 15 years, is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners, and serves as the president of the 1,000-plus member Oregon Chapter of the American Planning Association.
