Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend
State-of-the-Art

Bi-plane angiography equipment provides sharp, high-resolution images that enable the physician to see minute blood vessels in great detail.

When it opens, Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend will house the most advanced medical technology to ensure quality patient outcomes. Because technology tends to change rapidly, the building has been designed for flexibility so we can make upgrades as needed.

In addition, we’ve invested in technology with the patient in mind, and our state-of-the-art equipment spans all levels of patient care: from an advanced CT scanner to view the heart to an oversized elevator that can fit an entire trauma team.

For emergencies, our helipad has also changed. It can now accommodate a Black Hawk helicopter in the event that a rescue mission ends with a transport to Sacred Heart at RiverBend. Before, a large helicopter like a Black Hawk would have to land at the airport and the patient would be transported via ambulance.

Some of the new technology, like our extensive pneumatic tube system, will not be seen by the casual observer, but will greatly impact your care at Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend. The pneumatic tubes are six inches across and span 2.2 miles within the hospital and also run underground 6/10 of a mile from the hospital to the RiverBend Annex, which houses a state-of-the-art compounding pharmacy and Oregon Medical Labs. The tube system allows us to send supplies, lab specimens, pharmaceuticals and IV fluids quickly and efficiently, which will speed up the process to allow caregivers more time at the bedside, while allowing clinicians to make faster decisions regarding your care.
