Over 100 separate programs are funded through the Sacred Heart Foundation. Each program represents an area of clinical or healthcare service benefiting from the support of community members. When you give to the Sacred Heart Foundation, your gift is directed to the program you specify. The following list is a sampling of these programs, with some healthcare areas having several funds for specific purposes. - Our new state-of-the-art hospital will open at the RiverBend campus in 2008.

Sacred Heart Foundation General Endowment — Donations to endowment funds help
guarantee medical excellence today and for future generations.

Children’s Miracle Network
- The Children’s Miracle Network supports programs for infants, children and pregnant women receiving care through Sacred Heart Medical
Center.

Sister Theodore Marie Society
(STMS) - STMS encourages charitable giving and recognizes the generosity of donors through special events and courtesies at the
hospital.

Guardian Angel Program – Patients and family members can recognize the special efforts of a caregiver who made a difference in their hospital stay.

Clinical Programs

Behavioral Health (Psychiatry) — Inpatient and outpatient care and counseling
is provided for individuals, couples, and families.

Cancer Care — Sacred Heart provides comprehensive diagnostic services,
surgery, chemotherapy, nursing care, and radiation for cancer patients in the
hospital and through collaboration with community partners.

Diabetes Care — Evaluation and education through the
Diabetes Wellness Assessment Program enables patients with diabetes to
actively participate in their own care.

Emergency Department — Sacred Heart Medical Center’s Emergency Department is
a Level II Trauma Center, equipped to deal with life-threatening emergencies 24/7.

Gastro Endoscopy — A team of board-certified gastroenterologists, nurses and
technologists diagnose and treat a wide range of digestive tract problems at
PeaceHealth Medical Group in downtown Eugene.

Home Health - Individualized in-home care is provided for patients of all
ages, from newborns to seniors, throughout Lane County.

Hospice Care
— Sacred Heart Medical Center is committed to compassionate end-of-life care. The hospital offers programs designed to support the individual
needs of patients and their families.

Intensive Care Unit — The ICU treats serious, life-threatening conditions
with state-of-the-art technology, teams of specialists and special nursing care.

Little Stars — This service provides specially
developed end-of-life care for children facing life-threatening illnesses, and offers
support to their families.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
(NICU) – This 22-bed Level III nursery provides specialized, life-saving care to premature infants and full-term
babies.

Neurology — Neurology services help people experiencing strokes, chronic
pain, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, carpal tunnel syndrome, numbness in
the extremities, tumors, dementia and other problems of the brain and spine.

Nuclear Medicine — Nuclear medicine diagnoses medical problems through
noninvasive techniques such as X-rays, CAT scans and ultrasounds.

Oncology — In addition to treatment for cancer, the hospital, through one of
its many community partners, offers clinical trials that investigate promising new
cancer treatments for those who qualify.

Oregon Heart and Vascular Institute
(OHVI) – OHVI integrates care of the heart and the circulatory system, and coordinates patient care with cardiologists and
other medical specialists. OHVI also conducts research and provides education on
heart health.

Oregon Rehabilitation Center (ORC) — ORC is a nationally accredited
inpatient rehabilitation center that focuses on helping people recover from stroke,
brain injury, spinal cord injury and other disabling conditions.

Palliative Care -- Palliative Care is hospice care within the hospital that steps in when a patient’s treatment shifts from curing to relieving pain. This care focuses on easing symptoms and addressing the emotional needs of the patient and his or her family. The Palliative Care team provides these services at no cost to the patient.

Pediatric/Adolescent Care Unit — This family-oriented unit provides
specialized patient care to children from birth to age 16.

Prenatal Clinic — The Prenatal Clinic provides comprehensive prenatal care
and education for women without the financial resources to ensure healthy pregnancies.

Radiology — This department involves a wide range of imaging services for
diagnosis and treatment, including X-rays, ultrasounds, computerized tomography (CT
scans), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and mammograms.

Respiratory Care — Supports equipment purchases for program services for
patients with respiratory diseases.

Scleroderma Care — The Oregon Trail Chapter of the Scleroderma Foundation
meets monthly for support and education at Sacred Heart Medical Center.

Sleep Disorders Center
— Based on leading edge research, this clinically oriented program treats sleep disorders through an objective, systematic approach.
Community Education and Service
-
CMN/Lions Family Guest House
—The Guest House provides a peaceful sanctuary for family members supporting Sacred Heart patients during a medical crisis. No one
is refused lodging because of inability to pay the modest hospitality fee.

Courageous Kids Program
— This program helps children and teens who have lost a close family member. It includes weekly grief support meetings, school-based
services, Courageous Kids Camp, and anticipatory grief support services.

Cusack Medical Social Work Fund — This Fund helps low-income patients leaving
the hospital avoid life-threatening situations and re-admittance. Medical social
workers provide vouchers and other assistance for critical needs including
medications, food, shelter, and transportation.

Healthy Tomorrows — Healthy Tomorrows is a well-child clinic providing free
immunizations and preventative exams to eligible families.

HeartLine - With the push of a button, HeartLine enables subscribers to have early intervention in a cardiac emergency. This Medical Alert Service provides reassurance when needed, independence and peace of mind.

No One Dies Alone
— Nurses and trained volunteers provide a reassuring presence to patients who would otherwise face terminal illnesses alone.

OASIS Seniors Program
- OASIS, administratively sponsored by Gerontology Institute at Sacred Heart Medical Center, provides educational programs and volunteer opportunities for more than 8,400 mature adults in our area.

Pastoral Care
— Staff and volunteer chaplains offer pastoral counseling, patient and family support, advocacy, crisis intervention and prayer services at no
cost.

Staff Education – Separate funds exist to support
department-specific education and training for Sacred Heart’s clinical personnel.

Strings of Compassion
— Specially trained voice and harp musicians create a compassionate, reverent atmosphere for patients facing a life threatening illness.
“Prescriptive” music has been found to assist patients and their families with pain,
anxiety and grief.

Volunteer Services
— Through this program, volunteers share their time, talents and compassion and advance PeaceHealth’s mission of providing quality
healthcare in a healing environment.
