2007 Auxiliary Golf Tournament

On June 15, the volunteers of the Cottage Grove Community Hospital Auxiliary got together to host the 3rd annual Brad’s Chevy/Cottage Grove Community Hospital Auxiliary Golf Tournament. Early clouds gave way to clear skies and warm weather as 80 golfers enjoyed a morning of 18 holes for a great cause. “This is one of our most public and largest fundraisers for our hospital and our patients,” Auxiliary Past-President Juanita Woolley said. “So it s a fantastic way for community members to help support local healthcare in South Lane and North Douglas Counties.”

The sold-out tournament raised $10,000 for patient care, which Woolly explained would be used to purchase portable blood pressure monitoring units and portable patient beds known as ‘geri-chairs.’ “These are the things that make a world of difference to patients, but the hospital cannot always afford on its own” said Hospital Foundation Director Jeff Larson. “For example the ‘geri-chairs’ act like recliners and make it much more comfortable for patients in need of services like IV therapy. We are so thankful for our volunteers and golfers who really help make outstanding patient care possible in a smaller area with fewer resources available.”

Those golfing also expressed excitement over the tournament. “It was a lot of fun,” said golfer Pete Fisher. “We were able to get out here in the nice weather, have a good time and help a wonderful cause too.” 

The Cottage Grove Community Hospital is grateful to the local businesses and individuals who made the tournament a success through being a sponsor.
