Q: Does PeaceHealth Oregon Region offer health insurance?

A: Yes. Employees may choose among three medical plan options, as well as dental and vision coverage. Employees may also participate in flexible spending accounts by depositing pre-tax dollars into accounts to offset uninsured medical claims or dependent care expenses.

Q: When do medical benefits become effective?

A: The first day of the month following 30 days after date of hire in a benefits-eligible position (at least 20 hours/week).

Q: What other insurance does PeaceHealth Oregon Region offer?

A: Life insurance for employees and their dependents, and accidental death and dismemberment insurance (AD&D) for employees. Employees may opt for additional life insurance (for themselves or their dependents) or AD&D insurance. Long-term disability coverage is provided at no cost to employees.

Q: Does PeaceHealth Oregon Region offer a retirement savings plan?

A: Yes. Beginning on your first day of work, you can save a percentage of your pay in a tax-deferred annuity (TDA) and receive certain tax advantages. On the January 1 or July 1 after you have worked for at least six months, you'll receive matching contributions to your account if you save at least 2% of your pay in the TDA and meet the age and service requirements.

On the January 1 or July 1 after you have completed at least three years of service and have met all other eligibility requirements, you'll also become eligible to receive PeaceHealth-funded base plan contributions. You own (or are fully "vested" in) your own contributions as well as Sacred Heart’s matching and base contributions as soon as they are deposited in your account.

Q: Does Sacred Heart offer paid time off?

A: Yes. Eligible employees are provided with a generous paid time off program that combines vacation, holiday, and sick days. The program gives employees the flexibility to use paid time off as they determine it best fits their needs and desires. It also provides more paid time off than traditional vacation/sick day plans for employees who are not often ill.

Q: What other benefits does PeaceHealth Oregon Region offer?

A: Tuition assistance, employee assistance programs, an employee referral bonus, training and development, and access to fitness facilities.

Q: What about transportation and parking at PeaceHealth Oregon Region?

A: Parking is $5.00 per pay period for employees at both hospital campuses, the RiverBend Annex, and the PHMG clinic in downtown Eugene. Free bus passes are available to employees. Locked bicycle cages are available at both hospital campuses and the PHMG downtown Eugene clinic. Parking is free at most satellite clinics.

Q: Are PeaceHealth Oregon Region employees covered by any unions?

A: Some positions are unionized. There are non-unionized positions available as well. Employees in positions covered by a bargaining unit may be required to join the union and pay union dues.

Q: How big is PeaceHealth Oregon Region in terms of number of beds and number of employees?

A: There are 333 licensed beds at the RiverBend campus and 99 licensed beds at the University District campus. There are more than 4,900 employees.
