Center for Medical Education & Research

Funding Opportunities

The Center has been made possible through multiple grants and donations. In 2005 the OHSU School of Medicine received a $1.5 million grant from the James F. and Marion L. Miller Foundation to support program development for the Eugene initiative.

In addition, PeaceHealth provided the space for the Center and the Sacred Heart Medical Center Foundation has provided significant funding for operations of the Department and will continue to explore additional grant and endowment opportunities.

Oregon Health & Science University and the University of Oregon have submitted a request to the state legislature for additional funding of this program. This funding will allow PeaceHealth and the University of Oregon to begin plans for bringing the first year medical students to Eugene in the fall of 2008 and continue to grow into a comprehensive regional medical training facility at Sacred Heart Medical Center.
