The lobby of the PeaceHealth Professional Building of St. John Medical Center reflects the mission and spiritual values of PeaceHealth. On the north face of the building, a 24-foot stained glass cross sets an ambience of healing. Designed by award-winning architectural artist Arthur Stern, the window was recently honored with a Millennium Design Award from Faith & Form Magazine and The Interfaith Forum on Religion, Art & Architecture -- The A.I.A Religious Art and Architecture Design Awards.

Centered in the lobby, one encounters the Cross of the Millennium, one of only six in existence, designed by world-renowned sculptor Frederick Hart (1943-1999). In the wooden niches, directly to the west of the “Cross”, are five original calligraphic pieces in gold leaf. The scriptures selected reflect the healing ministry of Jesus Christ. Artwork throughout the medical center continues the theme of comfort and peace.
